Meg Remy's project has always operated in the space where feminist politics and pop music collide, but this 2018 record found her working with a full Toronto band, bringing a live urgency to ideas she'd previously explored in more lo-fi, experimental territory. The result is something that feels built for a room full of people, anchored in funk and disco but with an edge that makes you pay attention to every lyric.
