Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ Echo, the band’s tenth studio album, is available once again in a deluxe double vinyl LP pressing.
Originally released in April 1999, the record reached #10 on the Billboard 200 and quickly earned Gold certification from the RIAA, selling over 500,000 copies within three months. The album features standout singles like “Free Girl Now,” “Swingin’,” and “Room at the Top,” which climbed the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart to #5, #17, and #19, respectively.
Echo marked the band’s final collaboration with producer Rick Rubin, as well as the last Heartbreakers album to feature longtime bassist and vocalist Howie Epstein before his passing in 2003.
The record is notable for its emotional depth, balancing Petty’s trademark rock craftsmanship with more reflective tones. It also includes a rare moment in Heartbreakers history—Mike Campbell’s lead vocal on “I Don’t Wanna Fight.” Pressed across two high-quality vinyl discs, this edition captures the warmth and power of one of Petty’s most poignant releases.
