Tinsley Ellis built his reputation the hard way, logging decades on the Southern blues circuit before landing on Alligator, the Chicago label that has long served as a gold standard for serious electric blues. A Georgia native who cut his teeth in the Atlanta scene, Ellis brings a road-worn authenticity to his fretwork that no studio polish can manufacture or replicate.
MOMENT OF TRUTH is a tour de force of commanding, soul-baring vocals and a whole new level of blues-drenched guitar heroics. From the storming intensity of "Stare at the Sun" to the frisky rock of "Somebody," from the groove-centric "Tell the Truth" to a funky take on the Sam & Dave classic "I Take What I Want", Tinsley leaves no doubt this is the finest work of his career.
