The Muffs were one of the great underloved bands of the '90s alt-rock moment, built around Kim Shattuck's ferocious pop instincts and a guitar attack that split the difference between the Ramones and classic girl-group melodies. A live session recorded at Fort Apache Studios in Cambridge, Massachusetts captures them in a more raw, immediate setting than their studio work, documenting the energy that made them a cult favorite long before critical reappraisal caught up.
