Captured live in 1976 at the peak of their powers, the J. Geils Band were one of the great American live acts, a band that treated every night like a tent revival where the blues, soul, and rock and roll collided in real time. Peter Wolf's frontman charisma and the band's deep roots in the Boston club scene gave their performances an urgency that studio records could only approximate.
