Swedish lo-fi songwriter Åsa Söderqvist built ShitKid from bedroom recordings into a cult phenomenon, earning devoted followings on both sides of the Atlantic through relentlessly touring the underground circuit. Her self-released, cassette-and-CDR aesthetic carried an emotional directness that resonated with fans of outsider pop and DIY punk alike, making her catalog feel genuinely personal rather than calculated.
Since her breakthrough back in 2016 Åsa Söderqvist's ShitKid has been one of the most interesting acts around, constantly defying expectations and breaking conventions. After abruptly ending the project in 2020 and disappearing from the music scene altogether, ShitKid now returns with compilations and a live comeback in 2026 touring across the world.
