The years immediately following Elvin Jones's tenure with the John Coltrane Quartet were a proving ground, a moment where one of jazz's most seismic drummers had to demonstrate that his polyrhythmic thunder could anchor a band on his own terms. Recorded in 1966, Midnight Walk captures that transitional energy, with Jones leading rather than supporting, his conversation with the kit as searching and relentless as ever.
Limited 180gm vinyl LP pressing. Midnight Walk is a jazz album by drummer Elvin Jones recorded in 1966 and originally released on the Atlantic label.
