Jeff Lynne's orchestral pop ambitions hit their commercial and artistic peak with this 1976 release, the album that transformed ELO from a cult favorite into a genuine arena-filling phenomenon. The string arrangements here pushed rock and classical fusion further than almost anyone had attempted on a mainstream record, laying the groundwork for the bombastic, lush sound that would define the late-seventies album rock canon.
Electric Light Orchestra’s classic sixth album featuring “Livin’ Thing,” “Rockaria!,” “Do Ya,” and “Telephone Line.”
