Released independently in 2006 and quickly picked up for national release by Interscope's Tiny Evil imprint, this is still the best-selling and most beloved thing the band ever put out, which is a strange fate for a debut EP but not an undeserved one. Spin, Paste, and Stereogum all took notice, and the attention translated into real momentum fast, festival slots at Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, and Lollapalooza, tours alongside Manchester Orchestra and the Breeders. Nearly twenty years later the band is playing it front to back for shows timed to this release, which tells you something about how much it still means to them.

Blood in Your Mouth opens the EP at its most unhinged, tension held right up until it snaps. Mattresses Underwater is the clear fan favourite, five minutes that build with real patience before letting go, and Our Homes Are Graves compresses that same intensity into under three, no room to waste. Change Your Face or Change Your Name closes things out as the EP's most sprawling, unresolved statement.
