Greg Dulli has always written from the wreckage, and the Afghan Whigs' 2014 return after a 16-year absence picked up exactly where *Gentlemen* left off: wounded, cinematic, and unrepentant. Recorded with a rotating cast that included members of the Twilight Singers, *Do to the Beast* proved the reunion wasn't nostalgia; it was unfinished business.
