Zac Farro is an American drummer best known as the rhythmic backbone of the rock band Paramore. Born June 4, 1990, Farro became a key component of Paramore's sound during their ascent to alternative rock prominence. In 2010, he and his brother Josh Farro — the band's former lead guitarist and backing vocalist — departed Paramore, during which time Zac also collaborated with Josh in the band Novel American. However, his absence proved temporary; Farro rejoined Paramore ahead of the band's critically acclaimed 2016 album After Laughter, marking a significant return to the fold.
Beyond his work with Paramore, Farro has pursued a solo career under the moniker HalfNoise, establishing himself as a multifaceted artist capable of operating independently from his most well-known project. His return to Paramore in 2016 signaled a rekindling of the band's classic chemistry, allowing him to contribute to the band's continued evolution in the years that followed. Farro's drumming style — characterized by precision and dynamic range — remains integral to Paramore's identity as one of modern rock's most enduring acts.
