Yung Lean

Swedish rapper Yung Lean emerged as a defining voice of the 2010s underground hip-hop scene, achieving viral prominence in 2013 with the hypnotic "Ginseng Strip 2002." Born Jonatan Aron Leandoer Håstad, the artist quickly capitalized on this breakthrough, releasing his debut mixtape Unknown Death 2002 later that year and following up with his debut studio album Unknown Memory in 2014. With an ethereal production style and melancholic approach to rap, Yung Lean established himself as an innovative force who helped shape the aesthetics of cloud rap and the experimental underground.
Over the past decade, Yung Lean has built an expansive discography marked by artistic restlessness and genre-bending experimentation. The rapper released the studio albums Warlord (2016), Stranger (2017), Starz (2020), and Psykos (2024), alongside the mixtapes Frost God (2016), Poison Ivy (2018), and Stardust (2022). Beyond his primary Yung Lean project, he has pursued the experimental side project Jonatan Leandoer96, through which he released the albums Nectar (2019), Blodhundar & Lullabies (2020), and Sugar World (2023) — works that deliberately move away from hip-hop to embrace indie rock and neofolk influences. Most recently, he delivered the albums Jonatan (2025) and Psykos (2024), continuing to evolve his sound and maintain his status as one of underground rap's most uncompromising visionaries.
