The Runaways were a pioneering all-female rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1975, breaking barriers in a male-dominated music industry with their raw, energetic punk and glam rock sound. Led by Joan Jett and featuring Lita Ford, the group became icons of rebellion and female empowerment before disbanding in 1979, leaving an indelible mark on rock music history. Their legacy continues to inspire musicians and fans alike, cementing their place as trailblazers of rock and roll.
