The Mamas & the Papas were an iconic American pop rock vocal group formed in the 1960s, known for their lush harmonies and defining hits like "California Dreamin'" and "Monday, Monday." The group, consisting of Mama Cass Elliot, Mama Michelle Phillips, Papa Denny Doherty, and Papa John Phillips, became one of the most successful acts of their era and helped shape the sound of the counterculture movement. Their influence on pop music and harmonious vocals continues to resonate with audiences decades after their initial run from 1965 to 1968.
