The Insect Trust was an experimental rock band from New York formed in the late 1960s, known for their avant-garde approach that blended rock, jazz, and classical influences with unconventional instrumentation and dissonant harmonies. Led by Bill Crain and featuring rotating lineups of skilled musicians, the band released two cult albums that showcased their commitment to pushing the boundaries of rock music through complex compositions and improvisational elements. Though short-lived, The Insect Trust remains a significant influence on experimental and progressive rock, appreciated by musicians and listeners seeking challenging, innovative soundscapes.
