Sham 69 was a British punk rock band formed in Hersham, Surrey in 1976, known for their aggressive sound and working-class anthems that became staples of the UK punk movement. Led by vocalist Jimmy Pursey, the band achieved significant success with hits like "Borstal Boys" and "Hurts So Good" before breaking up in 1979, though they reunited for occasional performances in later years. Their raw energy and street-level perspective made them influential figures in punk rock history and enduring favorites among punk enthusiasts.
