Robby Steinhardt was an accomplished violinist and vocalist best known as a founding member of the progressive rock band Kansas, where he performed from 1973 to 1986 and again from 1997 onwards. His virtuosic violin playing and powerful vocals were integral to Kansas's signature sound and their biggest hits throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Steinhardt's contributions to progressive rock made him one of the genre's most distinctive and influential string players.
