Following the Grateful Dead's disbandment in 1995, Lesh remained committed to the band's musical legacy through various projects. Beyond performing, Lesh established Terrapin Crossroads, a music venue that became a hub for live music and community connection. Though he scaled back touring activities in 2014, Lesh continued to perform concerts and remained an active figure in the jam band and improvisational music communities until his passing on October 25, 2024.
