Krill was an American indie rock band from Boston, Massachusetts, founded in 2010 by frontman Jonah Furman, guitarist Aaron Ratoff, and drummer Luke Pyenson in the Allston neighborhood. The group carved out a notable presence in the indie rock underground during the early 2010s, releasing three full-length albums before disbanding in 2015. Krill announced their breakup plans in September 2015 and played their final show on October 23, 2015, in Brooklyn.
The band's discography spans from their 2012 debut Alam No Hris through 2013's Lucky Leaves, which helped establish them as an act to follow. Stereogum named Krill a "Band to Watch" in 2013, recognizing their growing influence within the indie rock community. Their third and final album, A Distant Fist Unclenching, arrived in 2015 via Exploding in Sound and Double Double Whammy, serving as a culmination of their creative output before the group's initial dissolution.
Though Krill disbanded over a decade ago, the members' work did not end with the breakup. In 2019, Furman, Ratoff, and drummer Ian Becker (who had replaced Pyenson) reunited alongside Joe DeManuelle-Hall under the new moniker Knot, releasing a self-titled album in 2020. Most recently, Furman and Becker returned in 2026 with new member Andrew Clinkman, marking their first recorded output in a decade with the song "Commemorative Plaque."
