Korn is an American nu metal band formed in Bakersfield, California in 1993, widely credited as one of the pioneers of the nu metal movement. Their sound emerged as a darker, more aggressive evolution of alternative metal, combining down-tuned guitars, hip-hop-influenced rhythms, and emotionally intense lyrics.
