Hellhammer was a Swiss extreme metal band formed in 1983, pioneering the raw and chaotic sound that would define early black and death metal. Led by Tom G. Warrior, the band's brief but influential existence from 1983-1984 produced only a demo and EP before disbanding, yet their unpolished, aggressive style became foundational to the extreme metal genre.
