Daniel Caesar

Ashton Dumar Norwill Simmonds, known professionally as Daniel Caesar, is a Canadian singer and songwriter who has emerged as one of contemporary music's most sought-after vocalists and collaborators. After building an independent following through the release of two early EPs, Praise Break (2014) and Pilgrim's Paradise (2015), Caesar introduced himself to a wider audience with his debut studio album Freudian in 2017. The project earned three Grammy Award nominations and a win for his collaborative track "Best Part" with H.E.R., establishing Caesar as a distinctive voice capable of blending R&B, soul, and alternative sensibilities into deeply intimate recordings.
Following the critical success of Freudian, Caesar released his second studio album Case Study 01 in 2019, which was longlisted for the Polaris Music Prize and further cemented his status as a rising force in contemporary music. His profile reached new heights in 2021 when he featured alongside Giveon on Justin Bieber's "Peaches," which became his first number-one song on the US Billboard Hot 100 and earned four nominations at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards. Caesar has continued his prolific output with Never Enough in 2023 — which won him his second Juno Award — and most recently with his fourth studio album Son of Spergy in 2025, marking both his third top-ten album on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart and his first entry on the Billboard 200.
Beyond his solo achievements, Caesar has become one of the music industry's most reliable collaborators, working with artists including Brandy, Kali Uchis, Ty Dolla $ign, Summer Walker, Common, Omar Apollo, and Bon Iver. His songwriting credits extend to major figures like Mary J. Blige, SZA, Tyler, the Creator, Shawn Mendes, and Kanye West, demonstrating his versatility and creative influence across genres. With four Juno Awards, two Soul Train Music Awards, an MTV Video Music Award, and ASCAP recognition to his name, Daniel Caesar has established himself as one of the most decorated and respected voices in modern music.
