Box Car Racer is an American rock band formed in 2002 as a side project of Blink-182 members Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus, alongside guitarist David Kennedy and drummer Trace Cyrus. The group released their self-titled debut album in 2002, which showcased a darker, more aggressive sound compared to Blink-182, earning critical acclaim and a devoted fanbase. Though the band went on hiatus after their initial run, Box Car Racer reunited in 2022 and continues to be celebrated for their influential contribution to post-hardcore and alternative rock music.
